Tracey Mofidi, MS, LMHC, CDPT

My Background

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee (CDPT) with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Eastern Washington University. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

I was born and raised in Southern California. For 27 years I have been married to my high school sweetheart. Together we have raised three grown children and tackled life. We have lived in some great places, one being Australia. After a few years of living overseas, we decided to return to the U.S. and settled in Seattle.

My experience in mental health is diverse. In Australia, I practiced as a psychologist and worked with teens affected by cancer and with folks needing crisis support. Back home in the U.S., I have worked with crisis services, been a court appointed advocate for children, worked in community mental health, and been a university student counselor. My speciality is with individuals and couples ages 18 and up, who are have experienced trauma and are struggling with life stage transitions and adjustments (e.g., university, mid-life, post-divorce, and recovery), identity, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges.

I endorse a client centered and collaborative approach to therapy to focus on the individual needs of each client and draw from several therapeutic approaches, including EMDR. I believe that our early relationships influence and shape our relationships into adulthood. Exploring these past relationships is essential for change because they contribute to our current life stressors, negative thinking patterns, relationships, and our ability to cope with challenges.

Through strength and flexibility we will work together to address your concerns, whether they be related to family, work, life transitions, long gray weeks, or other personal challenges. Should your concerns be related to healing and recovery, we will work together to help you find and claim your identity, not the one others may have put upon you but the one that genuinely aligns with who you are and would like to be.
