I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience working with children, teens and adults. My goal is to create a safe and respectful environment where you can feel supported and empowered. I am kind, insightful, non-judgmental and versatile. Therapy sometimes isn’t an easy road – it takes courage to explore painful past events and habits of living that don’t always serve us. I offer insight, encouragement, a sense of humor and expertise. My style is eclectic, holistic and evidence-based. I draw on a blend of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, narrative and mindfulness therapy.

After a first career as a journalist, I began working as a counselor for children in a shelter for women escaping domestic violence. After completing my clinical Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington, I spent five years at a regional trauma center providing psychotherapy to children, teens and adult survivors of abuse and trauma. I learned state-of-the art treatment strategies to alleviate PTSD, depression and anxiety. More recently, I have turned my clinical skills to providing individual and family counseling to palliative care and hospice patients, many of them at home. Through many years of hospice counseling, I have learned deep lessons from my clients regarding what really matters in life, as well as the power of gratitude, forgiveness, transcendence, and truly making use of and valuing the time we have. I am an experienced navigator of elder issues, managing chronic illness, alleviating caregiver stress and recovering from grief and loss.
I am also a writer and designer, adept at helping people explore the creative life and career changes.
