Whitney Dahl, MA, LMHC
My Background and Experience
I am originally from Nebraska where I started my journeyto become a counselor. I received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University Of Nebraska Kearney with a minor in Social work. I moved to Spokane, Washington to pursue a graduate degree in counseling from Gonzaga University before settling in Seattle about 4 years ago. I have worked in a few mental health settings in this area and enjoy helping people live a fulfilling life
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I provide individual therapy for young adults and middle-age adults helping them find meaning and purpose in life. I work alongside clients to help them pursue their goals, as well as celebrate the hard work put in to transforming their lives. My specialties include Anxiety, Depression,
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, relationship issues, and grief/loss.
My approach to therapy begins with building a strong therapeutic relationship while providing a safe and nonjudgmental environment where individuals can express their thoughts and feelings. I practice largely from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical behavior therapy framework while incorporating aspects of Narrative, Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic and Gestalt therapies. My areas of emphasis include relationship conflict and identity-development and refinement. I really enjoy helping people discover who they are as a person and using that discovery to live their lives to the fullest potential. I find it invigorating when I can bring a person to the realization that although they cannot alter their past they are able to free themselves from the shackles that their difficult experiences may have placed on them.
If you are ready begin the process of healing, I would love to share the journey of transformational growth with you.
