Shannon Presler, PMHNP-BC
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I received my Master of Science in Nursing degree from Seattle University. I specialize in treating adults (18+) with a range of psychiatric concerns including but not limited to anxiety and depression, bipolarity, ADHD and psychotic symptoms.
Background & Approach
I’ve worked in psychiatric care for 10 years in a variety of roles and clinical settings, both inpatient and outpatient. I continue to find this work deeply interesting, enlivening and consider every client experience a further opportunity to learn and grow in my understanding of good, personalized clinical care.
I see mental health as a complex interplay between the body, mind and relationships. Medication addresses, primarily, the body via neurochemistry and allows you to nurture and attend to the other facets of life that give you a sense of meaning and balance. I will work with you, as well as your other healthcare providers and therapists, to understand and address your particular complexity and mental health goals.
Whether you are just beginning your engagement with psychiatric medications or have long experience with them, I will work to find a treatment that will diminish the emotional and cognitive symptoms that can make life more difficult than it needs to be. I will do this primarily through medication management but also have training in a variety of psychotherapies that I can draw upon as needed.
