Education and Experience
I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Washington with a master's degree in clinical psychology from the Washington School of Professional Psychology and a bachelor's degree from Seattle University. My clinical experience includes working in university counseling centers, residential treatment for eating disorders and community mental health facilities. My professional experience has also allowed me some incredible opportunities to work in management and compliance within mental health. I have been a champion for health care reform and have spent some years helping organizations adapt to the Affordable Care Act and increase access to care for many people seeking mental health services. I am thrilled to be getting back to clinical work and am very proud to be a part of Mindful Therapy Group.
I truly love helping women find their power and voice. Transparency, critical thinking, humility, and common sense are the values that drive my practice. I specialize in working with women between the ages of 18-40 who are experiencing distress due to everyday life transitions. My areas of interest include women's issues/ women's health, depression/ anxiety, academic achievement, career and work-related issues, family conflict, self-esteem, body image, interpersonal conflict, and disorders of over-control. I mostly draw from feminist, existential, and modern psychodynamic theories. I view therapy as a collaborative, egalitarian experience in which together we will create a narrative that better fits your true self. My goal is to help you find meaning in your past experiences so that you can move forward in your life with more strength, understanding, and fulfillment.
