Michael Defilippo, ARNP, PMHNP-BC
Michael Defilippo is a licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), double board certified in family practice (FNP-C) and psychiatry (PMHNP-BC). He has baccalaureate preparation in psychology (B.A.) through New Mexico Highlands University, master’s preparation in nursing (MSN) through the University of St Francis, and is currently completing his doctorate in nursing (DNP), through the University of South Carolina. Michael has over 16 years of prior clinical experience as a registered nurse in healthcare, with 12 years in critical care environments (ER, ICU, Flight nursing). The last four and a half years Michael has dedicated himself to working in a rural community mental health clinic with the severely mentally ill, treatment-resistant population.
Michael works with children, adolescents, and adults (ages 5 and older). He performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and utilizes both psychopharmacologic and brief supportive psychotherapeutic approaches with a cognitive behavioral underpinning. He has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric disorders/disorder spectrums. Michael’s knowledge and training in family practice, as well as psychiatry, add an invaluable perspective into the integrated nature of mental illness. Michael believes in collaborative integrated care and will engage with your therapist, primary care provider, and other specialists to ensure optimal mental health.

Lastly, Michael will utilize his formative clinical experiences, the current up-to-date evidence, and most importantly your needs and preferences, to assist you in achieving optimal psychiatric well-being.
