APPROACH TO COUNSELING
In my therapy, I most often pull from a Client Centered Rogerian approach. I enjoy working with individuals to help improve their mind body connection and provide a welcoming safe environment for them to explore and process the challenges in their life. I believe that the therapeutic relationship above all can provide this opportunity to heal, grow, and learn about oneself as an individual in the world. I also use a healthy amount of humor and sarcasm especially in my work with adolescents.
Each therapeutic relationship is different and unique to the individual(s) involved. I often utilize techniques and practices from a variety of therapeutic approaches including Mindfulness, Narrative Therapies, Solution Focused, Strength Based, and Client Centered. By providing a congruent, empathetic and authentic therapeutic relationship we can work together to accomplish your individual needs and goals.
Growing up I filled the role of the friend who everyone sought out when they needed a nonjudgmental person who would listen to their struggles, which lead me down the path to explore Psychology. I have lived all over the continental United States and feel I have finally located my true home in the Pacific Northwest. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring and connecting with the amazing nature around me with my dog Daisy, playing and learning new board games, and crafting.
I feel constantly honored to be invited into the lives of my clients to witness their stories, support them in their individual growth and help them discover the connections and strengths within their own lives.
