Jill Paslay, MA, LMHC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a certification as a Child Mental Health Specialist. I hold memberships with the American Counseling Association and the Seattle Counselor’s Association. In my work I have provided mental health services for individuals and families in community mental health as well as in Seattle Public Schools. I have provided empowerment based advocacy for domestic violence survivors and facilitated women’s groups centered around the themes of domestic violence and self-esteem.
Through challenging circumstances and experiences it can be difficult to navigate life in a healthy and meaningful way. Uncertainty, fears, and a lack of true self can arise. I work to empower individuals to embark on a journey of self-discovery through identifying strengths, goals, and an increased understanding of worth.
I have been trained in cognitive behavior therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, and mindfulness based stress reduction techniques. I work from a client-focused and strength-based approach in that I view myself as a supportive aid on a client’s journey. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship my goal is to help clients transform into balanced and whole individuals.
When we know our value and can express our value, we are able to teach others to honor what we bring to the table.
