Devorah Verberg-Sachs, MA, LMHC
Hello. My name is Devorah Verburg-Sachs. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s Degree from Seattle University in Existential Phenomenological Psychology. In my practice, I work with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing difficulties and transitions in their lives. I work with a wide range of issues including grief, loss, illness, anxiety, depression, stress reduction, emotional regulation, parenting, and pre and post-natal issues.
I believe that change is possible, even when the view ahead seems overwhelming. Change can be hard work and challenging, but the results can be very rewarding. We can make effective change by strengthening our internal resources and resiliency, and by adopting new ways of seeing and responding to life events.
My intent as a psychotherapist is to jointly create a safe space where we can explore your life situation, and discover what is meaningful to you. Our work will be to enrich your ability to change or modify those thoughts, behaviors and emotional responses that have become obstacles to your wellbeing.
During the initial phase of therapy, we will gather information about the primary issues you want to address. We will work on defining goals and desired outcomes. Ongoing therapy will involve us moving towards those outcomes. Throughout our work we will regularly evaluate progress, so we can refine the therapeutic process.
I integrate many different therapeutic styles and techniques. Together we will find what works best for you and your unique situation. Therapy is a collaborative effort. Some of these techniques may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment (Mindfulness) therapy, and psychodynamic work, or a combination of approaches. We will work together to find and develop skills and solutions that are maintainable over time. Your feedback enriches this process and helps lead us together towards your goals.
