Cindy Gilbert, MSW, LICSW
We all need help from time to time, yet asking for help is one of the most difficult things a person will ever do. Taking that first step opens the path to healing. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree in social work from Loyola University of Chicago, and a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. My professional goal is to support individuals as they explore possibilities, process experiences and resolve issues.
I am experienced with depression and anxiety, as well as LGBTQIA issues and gender non-binary/non-conforming folk. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy, a method for addressing PTSD and other trauma.
My career has spanned twenty five years. In that time I have worked with individuals from all walks of life: from homeless youth to school-age children to chronically mentally ill adults. I work to build successful relationships on the foundation of respect, trust, and safety. The rest is rooted in kindness, compassion, genuineness and mindfulness. I believe every person deserves the chance to thrive.
When I'm not working I can be found in my garden (in season), spending time with my dog or binge watching something on Netflix.
