Carly Palady, MSW, LICSW
I've been working as a therapist, counselor, coach, and consultant for over a decade between the different roles, and in therapy licensed for approximately three years. My goals are my patient's goals: It is an honor to be able to accompany you on their path towards healing, whether it's from childhood trauma, military trauma and experiences, anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, and work-related overwhelm/burnout. I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Washington, with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Spanish Language and Literature (I’m bilingual!), with a minor in TESOL and Family Systems. I have lived extensively overseas, and as a reflection of this I enjoy working with clients from all cultures. I am clinically licensed and in good standing in both Oregon and Washington.
My agenda is my client’s agenda, and I take a strengths-based, client-focused approach to my work. I'm the kind of therapist that wants my clients to one day no longer need to come weekly or biweekly, because they are finally in a stride on their path that encourages them. We were made to have deep, purposeful impact in this world and that starts with healing what is holding us back.
My primary clients are adults, adolescents and children male and female ages 9-70, dealing with childhood, familial and military traumas, anxiety and depression related to work and family issues, and those feeling like they've been stuck on a hamster wheel for years, and just finally "want to feel better. Want to get off the wheel."
I work will work with you support through anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and/or familial issues as a gentle guide on your journey. I specialize in trauma, crisis, PTSD, anxiety and depression treatment, and my JOY is helping people live full, meaningful, purposeful lives, while feeling heard, valued and appreciated for where they are in their healing process.
With families and couples, I am trained through the Gottman Institute in offering marriage counseling, am a Certified SYMBIS facilitator for pre-marital and marital counseling, and have worked with parents providing support and coping strategies for living and working with special needs children.
I have worked extensively in emergency rooms, providing crisis interventions, with military and active duty populations, as well as Veterans. Most of my clients are women, and I have an extensive background treating trauma, anxiety, and depressive disorders through the US Government. I am versed and trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interview (MI) and Person-Centered therapy techniques. Finally, I enjoy working with couples dealing with communication issues and ‘stagnancy’ in their marriages to help them return to closeness and a sense of peace in their relationships.
As well, I have a Coaching and Consulting practice specializing in burnout prevention and career transition coaching for high-achieving and goal-oriented professional women who are ready to finally do impactful work and love their career, while still having balance with their family life, burnout-free. In my free-time, I enjoy spending time with my Husband of 10 years, kids, and hiking, cooking, reading and attending seminars. We are very active in our church and are thankful for what God has done in our lives. I feel our life is most fully lived in the moment, and I hope to be a part of your journey as well in seizing back your moment: Carpe Joy!
