Brandi Morgan, DNP, FPMHNP-BC
I am a qualified practitioner holding a Doctorate degree in nursing, and a certification in Psychiatry/Mental Health as a nurse practitioner completing over 12 years of education including most recently graduating from Chamberlain University. My training offers me the privilege to interact with all walks of like and age groups. In doing so, I welcome those with various needs ranging from the most serious of illnesses, to those just needing a “friend” to talk to.
Before becoming a practitioner, I sharpened my nursing skills in an ICU/Trauma unit in urban Northeastern Ohio. Words cannot begin to explain the priceless experiences I have received at this facility. I still smile inside at the lives that were saved , and my heart hurts when memory reminds me of the ones we lost. I’m one who believes that all can be saved, so I have to do any and everything that can possibly be done in order to be content, knowing I did my best.
I am no stranger to nursing having spent a combined 13 years in critical care, geriatrics, home health, and of course psychiatry, also including being known as “Professor Morgan,” where I have instructed soon-to-be Registered Nurses in the fine art of psychiatry. So what do I have to offer you…
I offer you many years of extensive training in my field but more importantly, I offer you teachings from life experiences. If being a wife and mother of four didn’t teach me a little about life, helping countless friends, family, and co-workers sure did. My experiences haven’t always been so glamorous. I learned pretty quickly how to deal with life’s experiences looking from outside of myself. For instance, having to tell a mother her child has passed from a horrible accident, talking to distraught family members about why their mother who has dementia doesn’t recognize them anymore, speaking with post-war veterans about how to deal with life after experiencing such tragedies, to talking with teens about thoughts of suicide due to not meeting their parent’s expectations of them.
In my practice, I focus on the here and now of your life. I help you to see how to move forward from whatever life has thrown at you. Many times we just need to take a look in the mirror and learn how to love ourselves again.
A wise person once said…
Only as high as I reach, can I grow
Only as far as I seek, can I go
Only as deep as I look, can I see
Only as much as I dream, can I be
