What if things could be different?
As you stand at the crossroads between what has been and what might be, I encourage you to dream big. I collaborate with clients in a direct and interactive way to help facilitate life-enhancing changes. In sessions, I utilize evidence-based approaches and compassionate curiosity to work with you on accepting yourself exactly as you are while encouraging and challenging you to become the version of yourself you want to be.
I received my master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis in 2001 and have practiced as a social worker in Illinois and Seattle. I’ve spent many years working as a therapist at healthcare organizations, primarily providing therapy to adults. In addition to my work with adults, I have also worked with adolescents as a middle and high school social worker, in community-based LGBTQ+ youth groups (St. Louis and Chicago suburbs), and in residential foster care.
I am passionately committed to lifelong learning and providing the highest quality of care. I use treatments in therapy that are well-researched and known to be effective. I’ve been trained in and use methods/approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Mindfulness Based Interventions, Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2 trained), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Practicing a variety of evidence-based modalities allows me to tailor treatment to the specific needs of each client. I also use a social justice/anti-oppression framework in therapy to explore how mental health and resilience is affected by oppression.
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, trying new coffee shops, connecting in meaningful ways with others, and being around cats and/or dogs.
