ABOUT MY PRACTICE
I am a board certified, advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). I completed my master of nursing (MN) at the University of Washington in 2011, through their family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. My training allows me to complete psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, provide counseling and wellness consult.
My practice is primarily focused on women’s mental health including post-partum and into motherhood. I also have a special interest in sleep health. While I practice standard western psychiatry and prescribe medications, my personal and professional growth is also focused on holistic wellness, addressing mind/body synchronicity and health. This can involve a wide range of interventions including modifying daily habits, mindfulness practice or consideration of nutritional status, immune or hormone function.
I understand psychiatric illness and mental health struggles as the result of many interacting factors including biology, genetics, family/ancestral history, environment, relationships and spirituality. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space, provide tools to ease distress, prevent relapse, foster empowerment and wellbeing. I work with people at their own pace and understand that sometimes we are only ready for very small changes.

At our first visit we begin a thorough intake interview. This process helps me understand your individual needs/concerns and will be used as the foundation for our wellness plan.
Working in the field of psychiatry and mental health was a professional goal from my teenage years and my passion has not wavered; I love what I do. I am most drawn to the authenticity that accompanies mental health treatment, the “come as you are” policy. I know the feeling of empowerment and freedom that comes with insight, healing and self-acceptance and it is an honor to be a part this process in other people’s lives.
When I’m not practicing psychiatry I am with my husband and 2 little boys. These days I most enjoy playing with my family, quiet time in meditation, being active outdoors, finding things to laugh about and collecting supportive and interesting friends.
