Annie Tookey, MA, LMFT
I began my mental health career in 2003 where I provided
emotional support for youth whose mothers had been or
currently were incarcerated while also providing opportunities
for the incarcerated mothers to emotionally connect and
strengthen their relationships with their children on site. I
went on to receive my Master’s in Marriage and Family
Therapy and have been practicing as a licensed therapist since
2011 providing individual and family therapy for children and
adolescents struggling with eating disorders in residential,
partial hospital, and outpatient levels of care.
My approach to therapy is solution-focused with emphasis on ACT and DBT as I feel we have the opportunity to find contentment in our current behavioral and emotional patterns with exploration as to how those patterns serve us, and more importantly, we will explore improving those patterns to better our quality of life.
