I am a board certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner in the state of Washington. I began my career as an Associates degree nurse from Truman College in Chicago, earned my Bachelors in the Science of Nursing from Loyola University at Chicago, and finally gained my Masters degree in Nursing from University of Saint Francis, Joliet Illinois. My treatment interests lie with families, children, adolescents, and adults with seeking care for various psychiatric concerns.
Through my training I have had the great opportunities to work with clients in a variety of settings and with varying acuities. Having work both within inpatient and outpatient settings, across the lifespan, and with clients of many different backgrounds and cultures, I have been able to individualize care to each specific client, and understand their priorities in care, and preferences in treatments.
The first step taken with my clients is to develop a trusting, safe relationship, and to develop a plan together with the goals of the client being priority. With client preferences in mind, options are explored and an appropriate timeline planned. I care about the entire person, rather than symptom management, and like to discuss all aspects of well-being and health, including sleep, appetite, and interpersonal relationships. Often when individuals seek care, other aspects of impaired wellness are brought to light that otherwise might not have been discussed. Addressing these other areas where improvements can be made allows us to be our best selves, to have the best response to interventions, and to have true mental wellness.
