Therapy provides an opportunity to be heard and understood by another person on a profound level. My intent is to create a working relationship with you based on compassion and respect. From this essential foundation, I will support your innate strengths and what is most meaningful to you.  In therapy we will find ways to help you overcome barriers in your life that seem overwhelming. Through this process and at a pace that works, I will support you in finding courage to live with renewed insight, leading to lasting change.

Theoretical Approach

I approach therapy from a creative and intuitive perspective, combining psychological models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, (ACT), Hypnosis, Lifespan Integration Therapy and Creative Arts Therapy. My focus is always on being flexible regarding utilizing or combining the above treatment approaches. What is most important is that it is effective and feels right for you. I aim to be transparent in this process and welcome your questions or concerns at any time.

Areas of Expertise

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with seven years of experience working with adults and families. I specialize in treating adults of all ages and have had success addressing people with a history of complex trauma, addiction, severe to moderate depression, bipolar disorder and all forms of anxiety including PTSD and OCD.

I hold a master’s degree in counseling psychology from National University in La Jolla, California and received a bachelor’s degree from The Evergreen State College with a concentration in Latin American Studies and Fine Art.

My previous clinical experience include working in Southern California as a therapist at an all women, substance abuse treatment center that addressed trauma and co-occurring disorders.    Additionally, I worked at Sound Mental Health in Bellevue as a therapist working with older adults affected by a variety of mental disorders and complex medical issues.

In my spare time, I enjoy creating mosaic art with glass, tile, beads and found objects. Last but not least, I like to spoil and cater to the needs of my Yorkshire terrier, Odie.
