I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a state designated Mental Health Practitioner, a Child Mental Health Specialist, an Asian Pacific Islander Ethnic Minority Specialist, and have over eight years of experience working with children, young adults, and their families in the mental health field. . Even more specifically, I have worked extensively with immigrant and refugee populations. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, have a specialization in working with sexual assault victims, and a wide range of experience supporting and treating individuals with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and adjustment issues. I believe that each individual is unique and will utilize culturally appropriate interventions to meet the needs of each specific client.
My role as a therapist is to help individuals reach their full potential and improve quality of life. I utilize treatments that support individuals in decreasing symptoms of mental health issues, increasing communication skills, removing barriers to wellness, increasing awareness of self-identity, as well as understanding the nuances of culture and how culture impacts an individual's path to wellness. I believe that as a therapist, I am privileged to be welcomed into an individual's support structure. I aim to facilitate a warm and caring relationship that will focus on an individual's strengths and abilities while teaching new skills to improve mental health. A successful therapist/client relationship is contingent upon trust. I aim to foster a relationship based on authenticity so that I might best support and challenge you to be your most genuine self. By creating safety and hope, together we can work to make barriers to wellness feel manageable and provide hope to live out our best lives.
