Andrea Valdez, ARNP, PMHNP
I am a board certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I completed both my undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Washington. My services include comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapeutic interventions. I am specifically interested in the care of children, adolescents and young adults.
I have worked in the field of psychiatry for 14 years; I began my career as a nurse manager at Seattle Children’s Hospital on the Psychiatric & Behavioral Medicine Unit, where I practiced for 8 years. I later became a triage nurse at Seattle Children’s Autism Center while completing my graduate education. After completing my master’s degree, I transitioned into a Nurse Practitioner role at Seattle Children’s Autism Center where I specialized in the care of children and adolescents with autism, developmental disabilities and various mental health conditions.
I hope to help my clients live their best lives. My first goal in treatment is to listen to my client’s story and develop a trusting relationship with them. I provide counseling and education about medication options, lifestyle changes and therapy interventions to help my clients make informed decisions about their mental health care. I am committed to providing safe, individualized, evidenced based care to each client I work with.
